All of that passion and aliveness was summed up in a song &#8211; Viva Mexico! <em>Viva<\/em>! Viva America! <em>Viva<\/em>! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video aligncenter\"><video height=\"1080\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1920 \/ 1080;\" width=\"1920\" controls src=\"https:\/\/www.dangermond.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/IMG_1236.mov\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In La Tacuba, the estudiantinas sang and the diners all responded, and <em>I started crying<\/em>. I felt so alive and joyful &#8211; tears were streaming down into my smile and the singer came over and asked for a kiss, instead I hugged him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video aligncenter\"><video height=\"320\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 568 \/ 320;\" width=\"568\" controls src=\"https:\/\/www.dangermond.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Mexico-Hug.mov\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ay, Mexico &#8211; you don&#8217;t owe me a thing.
