I went for a run today, my first outside in 2012 and I felt pretty darn good I must say. My spirits were soaring and I came back and sent a TWEET that said:<\/p>\n

After I sent that and went down to take my shower, I thought that perhaps I was a little high, too high from the endorphins that got released – that have been pent up. <\/p>\n
I read this poem today and it made me think of poets who are able to draw larger images and broader concepts than I ever will, why couldn’t I have come home and written this instead:<\/p>\n
NEMESIS<\/p>\n
The old men with too much gamble in them, whose eyes
\nAre at peace only when all is lost, see the Queen’s quiet face
\nOn the deck of cards, the red cuff of her cloak, the raw tip
\nOf her tongue, the blood on her dress… What fled from them
\nIn their frenzies comes tiptoeing back, choiring, to the marble
\nConcert hall where Nemesis, in velvet opera cape, is beginning
\nHer recitative: it is your turn to go slowly now, with hands
\nclasped behind your back, drowsy from the earth’s sweet
\nabundance and her great deprivations, the rows of crooked trees,
\nthe streets’ bright monotony, to gather up the starving…<\/em><\/p>\nEMILY FRAGOS
