Check, check, check

Yesterday, I stripped all the bedding in Tin’s room and washed it and his clothes and vacuumed. Then I reconditioned the leather couch with the leather honey. Next I cleaned and resealed all of the marble counter tops in the house. I vacuumed, and cleaned the windows, and picked up all the stuff that seemed to be everywhere, washed the dog beds and cat cover. I ordered diapers, wipes and Miss Jessie’s Baby Buttercream for…

WTF

On my way from getting the dogs from the vet – they went in for a bath – a much needed bath – I passed this DayCare Center that I pass all the time, but this time I noticed a sign, maybe it’s new, but it’s certainly odd. 24 hour day care. Good grief!

Refurbishing the sofa

The leather sofa ain’t what she used to be as she has gotten damaged by sunlight and not to mention countless animals pawing all over it. It’s a beautiful sofa and now thanks to Leather Honey, this product I bought online and used on it – it is a gorgeously beautiful, almost like new, sofa. This stuff is like spreading honey, I must admit, but it even felt good on my dry, winter hands. I…

Tapas like Spain

When we were in Indianapolis awaiting clearance to return home with Tin, we visited the Whole Foods there very often and bought this amazing Tortilla EspaƱola. I wanted so much for our Whole Foods here to carry it, but they never have. I just learned from the company that they are carrying it on their website. I highly recommend. We would heat this up in the microwave for a few seconds and add a salad…

My China Fetish

I’ve always had this deep curiosity about China much like every North American I know that is obsessed with Japan – my obsession has been with the larger country and its language and people. That is why I obsessively went through a China film period, when I just wanted to see everything I could and just yesterday, we watched an Ang Lee film that T had ordered from Netflix called Lust, Caution. The movie takes…

Whose your daddy?

We sent out holiday cards with several photos of Tin, the first photo is one of Evan Christopher holding him on his first birthday after Evan and John Rankin had serenaded Tin. Someone just emailed and asked if that is Tin’s biological father and I said no, just a friend who Tin has had an affinity for since he heard Evan playing the clarinet over my iPod. Fortunately, Evan too has an affinity for Tin…

25 mph winds ain’t nothing

We are readying Tin for his long trip to Croatia and I was telling him who he was going to meet for the first time – and now he keeps saying, “Matko, Matko, Matko” almost like a Croatian mantra. The temperature dropped last night and I brought all the succulents into the laundry room, but 25 mph winds in New Orleans are nothing compared to the freezing, snow cold he is going to encounter in…

The yucks

Tin and I were going to go to the Swan River Holiday Party last night but he woke from his nap Friday evening nasty sick and T and I took a collective breath. Neither T nor I have been feeling well – I have a sinus infection and have developed an unnatural fondness for Advil Cold & Sinus, but Tin’s nose was running so bad even he kept saying nose, nose, nose. Today, we missed…
