Okay, now here is the timeline for the LaLa:<\/p>\n
The house was built in 1923, so it’s 84 years old. <\/p>\n
Kathleen Kenny was the third generation Kenny living in the house.<\/p>\n
She put it up for sale by owner on April 3, 2005 – that evening Nancy called me and told me she saw it.<\/p>\n
The next day Nick walked me through the house via his cellphone and said, “you’ll get it, but Steve may not.” [Meaning Steve might not understand the house’s value.]<\/p>\n
I Fedex’d a cashier’s check to Kathleen Kenny for $6,000 on April 5, 2005.<\/p>\n
April 6, 2005 – Steve flew to New Orleans. (He got it.)<\/p>\n
April 7, 2005 – Steve signed for us a Letter of Agreement to Purchase.<\/p>\n
May 9, 2005 – we closed after sweating till last minute because one Kenny sibling, an ex postal worker, refused to sign.<\/p>\n
May 10, 2005 – Bud Logan began demolition of the house.<\/p>\n
August 29, 2005 – everyone evacuated due to Katrina bearing down on the city.<\/p>\n
November 7, 2005 – Bud began the remodel again and worked on the house till the end of February, 2006.<\/p>\n
November 8, 2005 – Steve and I separated. <\/p>\n
March 12, 2006 – I hired Kim Saunee with Schilds Construction (Nick’s contractor).<\/p>\n
May 6, 2006 – almost a year to the date, hired Trahan & Associates as the third contractor. <\/p>\n
July 26, 2006 at 11:45 AM – Steve and my divorce was final. <\/p>\n
