A long time colleague looked over at me and said, &#8220;Are you done for the evening? You, Rachel? The one who stayed up to all hours? And danced on tables?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I felt guilty for not being the one who stays up and dances on tables. But truth is that I could still do it and sometimes still do, but for me there are diminishing returns to not getting sleep &#8211; like a next day where I am destroyed. <\/p>\n<p>So yes, I save the staying up all night for very special occasions these days and in the meantime, I get guilty pleasure stealing away to my bed at night to get at least seven hours of rest before I begin again. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We were having an after dinner drink last night around the fireplace and I was fighting back the desire to just head up to go to sleep.
