{"id":19319,"date":"2014-03-21T07:38:14","date_gmt":"2014-03-21T12:38:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dangermond.org\/?p=19319"},"modified":"2014-03-21T07:38:14","modified_gmt":"2014-03-21T12:38:14","slug":"purim-comes-alive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.dangermond.org\/?p=19319","title":{"rendered":"Purim Comes Alive!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A friend whose band, Panorama Jazz Band, often plays at synagogues around the city, recommended I check out <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shirchadash.org\" target=\"_blank\">Shir Chadash<\/a> because he said the community there is vibrant and warm. <\/p>\n<p>This is how Tin and I ended up there last Sunday for the reading of the <em>Megillah<\/em> &#8211; the story of Esther and her foolish husband (the King of Persia) and evil Haman who wanted to kill all Jews &#8211; which is celebrated in the story of Purim (a holiday where Tin said &#8220;we sell gifts to the needy&#8221;
