I left Steve at the LaLa to work while I ventured out to hear some great music. I was trying to hook up with one of my online advertising sources and we kept missing each other as both of us succumbed to the heat. I wound up under a food tent where a kind woman took a cold compress and revived me &#8211; he wound up in the Southern Comfort tent listening to Nathan and the Zydeco ChaCha&#8217;s &#8211; I caught up with him there but by that time I was too far gone on the slippery slope of heat stroke so I told him I might catch up with him later at Liuzza&#8217;s.He text me from Liuzza&#8217;s but I was already home on my porch with the Puerto Rican girls listening to them play the guitar and congas.\u00a0<br class=\"webkit-block-placeholder\" \/><br class=\"webkit-block-placeholder\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.dangermond.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/01\/jf2.jpg\" title=\"jf2.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.dangermond.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/01\/jf2.jpg?w=640\" alt=\"jf2.jpg\" \/><\/a><br class=\"webkit-block-placeholder\" \/><br class=\"webkit-block-placeholder\" \/>I told him to come over with his friends afterwards. Little did I know that suddenly we were having a party &#8211; he showed up with about 7 people and before you know it &#8211; he was singing &#8211; and singing very well! A band formed and I did some fire dancing practices around the music. But at the end of the night when I was putting them in cabs &#8211; I felt like the Jazz Fest weekend had concluded on the bayou with our own sound.
