It’s been so long

The Satchmo Fest is this weekend – see we haven’t had a festival in what? a week? So we’re desperate for one. The Satchmo Fest is a celebration of Louis Armstrong and his music. It starts today and goes through Sunday. Of course, sandwiched in is White Linen night – where all the galleries open up their doors and the largest block(s) party goes down. He had just fallen and his hands were bloody as if he had just come off the cross or something. Very strange. He said he finally moved in his house, which was almost destroyed by Katrina but that he still doesn’t have a kitchen. Like a lot…

Swirl, La Vita, then Punk

That’s right – sometimes the nights just flow like that. After dropping off Jake, I headed to Swirl to meet everyone and we made our way to La Vita for dinner at a nice big round table. F’s niece Besta was with us at Swirl but took off for her 2nd date after only four days of being in town – she’s a beauty like a lot of those Turks – what is with that…
